I want to use this return post as another big thank you to all of you.
As most of you know I have been going through a really tough time financial with my hubby being out of work for two years now. He is trying, and I don't fault him. But it has not been easy, there have been lots of fights, lots of tears and a little bit of hope every now and then. These were some of those times, even when I was hiding from the blog world - my blogger friends would reach out and hug me.
I'll start by saying thanks for this nice package I won from The GunDivas (formally Girls with Guns) blog. I found the moldable ear plugs very cool - so did the guys who usually shoot with us. HA! They are all mine.
This was a package that arrived from Oregon Sunshine - we had talked about exchanging some books and I was hoping for some "new" used book that I had wanted to read, that she had already read but, when I got the package it seemed to be all full of new books! And way more than I had thought was coming! I am now rich in books!! Of course I had to trot around the house showing each book at least twice to Hubby who seemed annoyed......until..... he saw The Backyard Homestead
book, and then preceded to steal it. But I get to read a little bit of it every now and then. He's putting it to very good use so I don't mind....yet. Thank you so much OS!
I was having a particularly crappy day when this package showed up. I knew who it was from but didn't know what to expect. It was and entire bathroom restock of Arbonne products! I love them, I have been very happy with the products and the results, my Hubby loves his products as well, and it showed me once again that the universe was using my blogger pals and not allowing me to have a pity party for myself. I want to send a huge thank you out to CDNCowgirl, cause I really needed a bathroom restock it was getting kinda scarce in there...
And so overwhelmed by all the love and support from people that are commonly labeled by the media and sometimes rude family members as "not real friends" I humbly accepted the gifts and said my thank you(s) on Facebook as I still didn't have the time to be blogging. And focused on trying to stay sane and keep my life together...
So you could imagine my surprise when last week I got ANOTHER package in the mail!
It was a Breadmaker complete with gluten free settings!! After being harassed with a camera by my Hubby - I had to do the happy dance in my socks on the hardwood floor (no, I didn't fall - I have before but not this time LOL!). This wonderful timely gift came to me (according to Hubby, please let me know if I mess this up) from Oregon Sunshine, Mrs Mom, and GunDiva herself. Thank you so much - I so would not buy something like that for myself, I would've just plugged along making bread by hand (resenting it just a tiny bit, but doing it anyways). This is just perfect. I will get this down and it will make my summer so much better not having to devote an entire afternoon a week to bread making. PLUS I won't have to run the darn oven in the summer heat.
And just before I am done here I want to say thank you AGAIN to everyone that was involved in the Christmas packages. And especially to SquirrelGurl over at Notes from the Squirrel Nest, who I found out, ran around getting alot of the different stuff and packaging it up. I have enjoyed every little bit of that stuff. From the gluten free goodies to the wine to the PJ's.
I know it seems silly but even struggling day in and day out with coming up with enough money to pay the bills, and trying to stay out of BR court, I didn't really ever feel poor. I had cool stuff, cool books, cool soap, cool shampoo and now a freakin awesome bread maker, but BEST of all is that I had all of you - every single time I started getting a little depressed and overwhelmed a package would show up and remind me that there were people out there that cared about, and were pulling and praying for me. Now I know you sometimes question why you blog (I know I do) you don't make money, you're not getting high numbers in hits or comments, maybe you've upset a family member, but I would like to venture to say this is why we blog: Friendship. And to those people who have the gaul to say that online friends "are not real friends" - I say "I'd sure hate to be one of your online friends then."

We love ya Steph ;)
Give some TLC to the pups from me, and make sure YOU get a big hug and cuddle too!
xoxo
I've always thought that my blogger friends were "real". Certainly more real than the majority of my Facebook friends.
I hope you enjoy everything and keep moving forward :)
I've always got a pretty good vibe from our group of bloggers. Glad to hear you got some more great stuff. We are thinking of you - and rooting for the hubby to find some work.
I have my fingers crossed that things pick up for you guys...
Wonderful! Things are picking up, I hope hubby gets some good news soon. We have a man down over here too...
Awwww...It's good to see you back again kiddo! You have been missed. I know a lot of people have moved to FB, but I just can't get into it. (Even though I have an account)
Keep us more up to date on what's going on. You do know we do NOT consider it whining when you share...right?
RIGHT??!!!!
<3 you Steph!
Putting together the package for you was great fun! I felt like a little elf!
And, you're right, online friends are real friends! I'm seeing that each and everyday!
Hey real shmeal. These guys are as real as they get. Hang in there, sweet pea spring is on the way.
Love ya, babe! I promise I read every.single.one. of those books I sent. I *think* I managed to remove any mail I used as a handy bookmark first. I am glad you are enjoying them and I can't wait to see what Chris does with The Backyard Homestead!
You've been talking about a bread machine for a while now. Summer's coming. Running the oven seems insane in that instance. Plus, you'll save a bit on your utility bill by NOT having to run the oven for a loaf of bread!
Of course online friends are real friends! I have exactly two real friend here in GA. Everyone else is far away. One GA friend isn't exactly close by. It's an hour and a half to go see her. And Mrs. Mom is 5, count 'em, FIVE hours away, so we haven't met yet either. BUT, she's my friend too!
I think you have my number. You're always welcome to call and chat, grumble, whine or if you just need someone to talk you down. :) I'm usually around. Just because we don't see each other every week doesn't mean we aren't friends. Real FRIENDS are there no matter the miles between and support each other no matter what.
PS Any way we can keep you for an extra day or three when you come down this fall? We could go to Savannah and meet Mrs. Mom. And SG is planning to come down in the fall sometime too! Maybe we could coordinate it to be when you're here?
PPS Blogger doesn't like me today. :(
Ahhh he is already rebuilding the chicken pen, altering the chicken coop (mostly to accommodate an additional layer or two and meat birds), planting blueberry bushes, a pie cherry tree, another apple tree cause he read they needed company, enlarging the garden and we're considering goats... :-)
What was so funny was that he mocked the book - then started reading it and all the sudden it was "his."
Why is blogger not being nice to you? Some one snipe you on a post? That happens to me everyone once in a while you just deal with it and move on. They hardly ever bother to check back on their rotten comment. Just lonely people who get kicks off of posting snotty comments...
Blogger kept telling me it didn't like my WP identity. :(
It didn't want to let me post my comment, until I broke down and used an identity I don't post with.
"Just because we don't see each other every week doesn't mean we aren't friends. Real FRIENDS are there no matter the miles between and support each other no matter what."
Couldn't have said it better. Seems like my REAL friends live far, far away these days... 5 plus hrs north (OS), CO (Diva, BECG, Bill and Juanita..)... You, way WAY out there... CDN in Canada.. and my Very Best Friend that I grew up with is now all the way out in MO.
Guess it is a good thing I'm not comfortable being around people all the time, cause we sure arent! LOL
Enjoy the goodies Steph. Cant wait to hear how the projects come out w/ the hubby too!!!
xoxo
Isn't blogging a great way to meet forever friends:) I know it has helped me through some very very tough times and it is nice to hear from someone who is going through it or has gone through it and truly cares. Great to see you post.
